LANL Institute for Advanced Studies

The Institute for Advanced Studies is one of the five academically-led institutes within LANL. The IAS includes the University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, and New Mexico Tech. It is part of the National Security Education Center. The IAS combines the strengths of New Mexico's research universities with the unique capabilities of Los Alamos National Laboratory to promote research and educational opportunities. Computer System, Cluster, and Networking Summer School

This summer school aims to expose participants to many of the necessary skills and methods needed in order to maintain a high-performance super computer cluster. Participants get first hand practical experience with building and testing a cluster plus interaction with many professionals in the field. The summer school is being offered jointly by the LANL Information and Technology Institute and the LANL Institute for Advanced Study.

Los Alamos Summer School in Physics

Since 1988, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and the University of New Mexico (UNM) have offered a unique summer program in physics to a select group of advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students. The Summer School includes lectures, tutorials, a unique high-performance computing experience, and a full-term research project mentored by senior scientific staffs at UNM and LANL.

Great Surveys Workshop

This workshop is aimed at building upon the wide interest in astronomical surveys in the community. This meeting will bring together the key workers in the field to exchange ideas, identify areas of cooperation, and to discuss plans for the future.

Santa Fe 2008 Cosmology Workshop

These workshops have been held for three weeks every year on the campus of St. John's College since 1999. They aim to cover the fast-progressing and expanding field of cosmology, addressing needs such as nucleating new collaborations, introducing new areas to experts in other fields, and giving graduate students and post-docs opportunities to learn from and interact with senior researchers over an extended period of time. The workshop is the only annual meeting of this kind in the US and continues to gain in popularity every year.

q-bio Summer School

The School is intended for researchers new to modeling of cellular regulatory systems. Topics to be covered will include modeling of signal-transduction systems, genetic regulatory circuits, and stochastic effects in biochemical systems.
